Jennifer Yu Wins 2019 U.S. Women’s Championship

With her decisive win over Anna Zatonskih in Round 10 of the U.S. Women’s Championship, Jennifer Yu has clinched the title of 2019 U.S. Women’s Champion with a round to spare. Yu is currently at 9/10 and plays Carissa Yip tomorrow.

Zatonskih was in a difficult position when she made a final mistake with 30.Qe1.

After considering the position Yu found the winning 30. … Bf2! 31.Qd2 Bxg3+ 32.Kxg3 Qc7+ 33.Kg4 Be6+ and Zatonskih resigned.
