-
June 12-16
July 17-21
& August 7-11
from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time.
Chris Torres wants as many young people as possible to enjoy a summer chess camp. For this reason, the popular Fremont based chess coach carefully designed every aspect of the DCM Free Online Summer Chess Camp to make an immediate impact on the game of young chess players.
The DCM Free Online Summer Chess Camp began the tradition of providing children with an incredible web based summer chess camp experience at no cost during the pandemic to keep scholastic chess players engaged during lockdown. Based on his famous Fremont Summer Chess Camps at Mission San Jose Elementary School, The Daily Chess Musings camp structure was well received and over one thousand young chess players of all skill levels enjoyed the experience.
For the 2023 Chris Torres will be joined by GM Vinay Bhat, FM James Eade, FM Kevin Pan, popular chess author Lauren Goodkind, and attacking maestro Francisco Anchondo to show campers first hand how top chess players think, train, and succeed. This year’s summer chess camp is designed specifically to make participants of all skill levels engaged by offering multiple camp curriculum paths while utilizing a community building approach which encourages students to form new friendships in their peer groups. In fact, the end of the summer chess camp is just the beginning of each child’s learning journey with the vibrant Daily Chess Musings online chess community.
The Daily Chess Musings Free Online Summer Chess Camp will meet during the weeks of June 12-16, July 17-21, & August 7-11 from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time. All children will earn camp points by completing assignments and taking place in camp chess tournaments against other players in their skill level groups. At the end of the week, special prizes will be awarded to the top point earners in each skill level section. Each week will offer unique learning opportunities and any child who completes all three weeks of chess camp will also receive a special diploma to commemorate their achievement.
There is no charge to register your child for these camps and all skill levels are welcome. For more information and to register please visit: https://dailychessmusings.com/free-online-summer-camps-2023/

- ICA Scholastic Camp: June 19-August 25 - ten different weeks (Glen Rock and Teaneck, New Jersey)
-
Join us for the 23rd Annual International Chess Academy (ICA) Scholastic Summer Day Camp, June 19 through August 25 in one of our two campuses, Glen Rock and Teaneck, NJ.
Our Summer Camp program offers kids ages 6-16 the opportunity to grow intellectually within a safe and fun environment. With a 6:1 ratio of campers to counselors we have a ton of fun learning chess, playing sports and competing for prizes! Campers are assigned a coach and break out into morning lessons where we solve puzzles, analyze games, and discover new ideas about our favorite game. The small groups are divided by level and age so campers can have fun and maximize their learning.
Of course, every coach brings new ideas and challenges. Last summer, many of the experienced campers impressed their friends by memorizing entire grandmaster games. Some were over 100 moves!
We also have fun outside, warming up in the morning with a camp classic dodgeball parody “Circle of Doom”, and returning before lunch to play dodgeball, soccer, or use the playground.
After lunch is the tournament. Campers compete for the weekly prize, and tournament games are often analyzed during the morning lessons.
Sometimes after the tournament campers have a chance to compete against their coaches in a simul exhibition (one coach takes on any and all challengers). On Friday, campers are paired up for the bughouse tournament.
We have a mix of other great options in the afternoon including art, music, and math. And campers compete for prizes all day!
Find out why so many chess players claim that camp is the best place to learn chess!
It's time to secure your child’s spot!
