Ratings 1800+The Charlotte Chess Center will organize its 9th annual Elite Chess Camp June 15-19, 2026, featuring world-class trainers and dozens of the nation’s top junior players. Effective 2026, we have increased the daily training hours to provide over 30 hours of the highest level of live instruction available in the world with GMs Judit Polgar, Peter Leko, and RB Ramesh. This is the strongest non-invitational camp in the country - many former Elite campers have gone on to become GMs and IMs. Campers are strongly encouraged to couple the camp with the 2026 Carolinas Classic, held just prior to camp at the same venue. Campers are grouped by level, from beginners learning the game to students preparing for tournament play.
Set on a shaded hilltop in Central Park, the pavilion offers 24 outdoor tables under a wooden trellis, one of the most unique settings for chess in the city.

2026 Castle Chess Camp and Grand Prix Tournament; Now in its 24th year, the Castle Chess Camp at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia (June 21-26, 2026) brings together top instructors and top students for a week of intensive chess training. The camp is followed by the optional Grand Prix tournament (June 27-29, 2026; G/90, inc. 10) with $12,000 in guaranteed prizes. In 2025 the median rating of camp was near 1800, and the top group (12 students) were all over 2100. Camper to staff ratio is 5-1. Instructors now under contract with us for 2026 are: GM Boris Avrukh, GM John Fedorowicz, GM Vladimir Georgiev, GM Aleks Lenderman, GM Elshan Moradiabadi, GM Magesh Panchanathan, GM Kayden Troff, IM John Ludwig, IM Joshua Posthuma, WGM Sabrina-Francesca Foisor, and FM Robby Adamson. Registration is open, and camp is filling up quickly, so don't delay or you may miss out on the 2026 camp. Semper Primus Chess Camp is tailored to students entering K-12th grade. All camp Tournaments are Rated.
Overview:We are an overnight chess camp focused on allowing campers to play and learn about the game we love. Our goal is to bring campers of varying ages and levels together to foster both chess skills and community.When:- General camp length will be from July 12th – July 17th.
- Campers will have the option to attend camp for 5 or 3 days for the July 12th-17th camp.
- Extra day (July 18th) checkout option will be available to campers, as a tournament will be held on July 18th.
Where:- Millersville University, Pennsylvania
- Campers have the option to stay in the suites (5th-12th grade), stay in the suites with a parent/guardian (K-4th grade), or commute (K-12th grade).
- Double Suite and Single Suite accommodations.
Itinerary:- Campers will have plenty of events to play and compete in.
- Recreational activities will be provided in addition to chess to allow campers to rest their minds and relax.
- Two daily rated tournaments.
- Evening events may include sports, non-chess activities, Blitz, or quick chess.
- Freedom of choice is a standard, with camp counselors staying on site 24 hours a day.
- Formats include Swiss, Quads, and Blitz.
- Master Instruction
o We will have masters that provide analysis on your games.
o Daily group lessons on tactics, strategy, openings, and endgames.
o Instruction will be an elective rather than a mandated event.

2026 University of Texas at Dallas Chess Camp; Now in its 22nd year, the UTD Chess Camp in Richardson, Texas (July 13-17, July 20-24, July 27-31, 2026) pulls instructors from its top-rated Collegiate program along with 1st class local trainers together for three weeks of fun and informative chess training. We offer a morning and afternoon schedule. You are also permitted to take both schedules. On Fridays, each camp will end with a serious unrated tournament with hardware prizes. We serve three levels of competency, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. We sort the students from a pre-test which gives campers greater experience based on correct placement. Each camp usually fields between 6-12 campers which enables more individual attention from the instructor.
Projected instructors include GM Julio Sadorra, GM Mikhail Antipov, FM Jason Metpally, NM Minh Tran, and CM Tim Steiner among other qualified instructors.
