US Chess Women's Program Awards 23 Grants

US Chess is pleased to announce 23 grant awards (up from 17 last year) under the US Chess Women’s program. With support from the Saint Louis Chess Club, US Chess annually offers grants to nonprofit affiliate members who are promoting programs that support women and girls in their respective communities. The 2025 grant recipients are:

  • Avila Royals Chess Booster Club, Inc. (Edinburg, TX)
  • Smart Diehl Academy (Mint Hill, NC)
  • Mint Hill Elementary School (Matthews, NC)
  • Think Like a Queen (Doral, FL)
  • Chicago Chess Foundation (Chicago, IL)
  • Azerbaijani Society of New England in partnership with Melrose Public Schools in Melrose, MA (Boston, MA)
  • Chess4Girls (San Diego, CA)
  • The Greene School (Jupiter, FL)
  • Suvidha International Foundation (Folsom, CA)
  • Medina PTA (Bellevue, WA)
  • Jefferson County Public Schools (Louisville, KY)
  • KIPP Harmony Academy (Baltimore, MD)
  • RGV Chess Lab (Brownsville, TX)
  • My Chess World (Mercer Island, WA)
  • Alaska Chess Federation (Anchorage, AK)
  • Progress With Chess (Cleveland, OH)
  • Hunter College Campus Schools (New York, NY)
  • Chess Enrichment Association (Sioux Falls, SD)
  • Girls4Chess (Saratoga, CA)
  • Gwinnett Public Library Foundation (Smyrna, GA)
  • Michigan Chess Association (Novi, MI)

According to DeVaughn Croxton, the US Chess Director of Programs, “US Chess is so proud of the efforts of our awardees to promote the growth and retention of female players. These grants help bolster the efforts of our affiliates to strengthen the chess community across the country. These grants are part of a larger program initiative to elevate women and girls in chess and are funded by the Saint Louis Chess Club.”
