In August, US Chess Women kicked off a series of classes with Chess Meets Business Meets Kids and the Lighthouse Chess Club in Kenya to present a cross-cultural program to introduce girls in Kenya to those in the United States through chess.

In a recent session, the Kenyan girls taught the American girls how to say the chess pieces in Swahili. US Women's Committee chair also led a lesson on preventing your opponent's ideas. Find our first session, on Back Rank Mates here.

The next joint session is on September 26th, Saturday at 12 Noon EDT and will feature a lesson by Jennifer Shahade on moments from her career where she was both over and over confident. It will also feature follow-up exercises on confidence by Business Meet Kids Meet Chess board member Lisa Batiste.

This workshop is free to female members (join or renew here!) and you can sign up using this google form. https://forms.gle/xCXcUJb1KdW4EEwP9
