IT Project Manager/Developer

Work for US Chess, the national governing body for chess in the United States. US Chess recently relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, and is seeking to add an IT Project Manager/Developer to its team to augment our technical talent. Remote work possible for the right candidate. All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

US Chess seeks an IT Professional who relishes the development challenges of a small nonprofit organization (~20 employees) and the excitement of managing the next wave of custom development to support the organization’s mission and programs.

We are looking to further develop our custom CiviCRM installation and its Drupal integration. We seek a full-stack developer, with strong project management experience, to join our team and help with development, business analysis, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our systems’ capabilities. We seek someone who is excited about developing and maintaining a product, and one who ideally has an understanding and appreciation of the chess community in the United States. This position would be the liaison between US Chess and its existing external development partner.

Skills Needed:

  • Strong IT Project Management Experience
  • PHP
  • Drupal 9, including Features modules
  • CiviCRM
  • HTML/CSS
  • Familiarity with Git, other CRMs and CMS a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Commitment to open-source software community as a contributor
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Willingness to Learn
  • Avid Chess Player, bonus for US Chess-rated experience

Preferred Location: St. Louis, MO. Our office is accessible by St. Louis Metrolink, in the Union Station complex. Full benefits package available.
