Leago MUIR Beta Testing Now Open

US Chess is proud to announce the second phase in our long-term plan to overhaul digital infrastructure. Following the 2020 move to CiviCRM, our next step is to replace outdated tools in the Membership Services Area (MSA) and Tournament Director/Affiliate Area (TD/A).

Because these areas still rely on decades-old platforms that no longer meet our needs, US Chess has partnered with Leago to create a new, unified platform for tournament directors (TDs), players, and parents.

As of today, this new platform is open for beta testing. If you are interested, read on for instructions for how to become a beta tester and how to share your feedback with us.

What is changing?

Currently, tournament directors (TDs) upload rating reports in the Tournament Director/Affiliate Area (TD/A). The results of these reports are then viewable by members in the Membership Services Area (MSA), and top player lists are viewable in a third separate location.

US Chess has been working with Leago to replace these disconnected systems with one unified platform to simplify workflows and improve the user experience when uploading tournament reports, checking ratings, and following top player lists.

Who is Leago?

Leago is our development partner who have programmed and are spearheading this work. They are a group that has previously worked with gaming organizations, including both the Canadian Go and American Go associations.

Timeline

Beginning today, September 22, the new platform is open for beta testing. If you are interested in beta testing the new platform, visit the beta site here. Users do not need to create a login to explore the site.

After spending some time looking around, fill out the survey for general users. TDs and Affiliates are also invited to fill out this survey for TDs and Affiliates

The intended launch procedure will be a takedown of the current TD/A at the start of the final rerate. At that point, all data submissions will change over to the new system, and the new public-facing views will also go live. We anticipate this happening before the end of the calendar year.

We value your feedback

If you used the beta site, we would like to hear from you. Please click here for a general survey about your user experience as a beta tester. For TDs, please also click here for a second survey about tournament report uploading.
