Kids for Chess Announces 2025 Scholarship Winners

Kids for Chess, a nonprofit organization committed to supporting America's best youth chess players, is thrilled to announce the five winners of its scholarships for the 2025 World Youth and World Cadets Championships.

After a rigorous selection process, the scholarships, each valued at $1,500, have been awarded to Renae Chen, Felix Guo, CM Chenxuan Ling, WCM Anagha Sinkar, and FM Linxi Zhu. The scholarships aim to assist the winners with the costs associated with participating in the World Youth and World Cadets Chess Championships this fall.

We are also very proud to support FM Megan Paragua and CM Sasha Schaefer, two winners of the 2024 scholarship who could not attend the tournament last year but will be going this year.

The winners were selected by a dedicated committee, considering their chess accomplishments, academic achievements, engagement in chess-related community service, and genuine need for financial support.

Renae, Felix, Chenxuan, Anagha, Linxi, Megan, and Sasha showed great skills, not only on the chess board but also in their academic pursuits and community involvement. They are prime examples of the potential that Kids for Chess aims to cultivate, and we are proud to support them on their journey.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to these seven extraordinary individuals and wish them the best of luck in their upcoming championship games. We are confident that they will represent Kids for Chess and the United States with pride and determination.

Kids for Chess would additionally like to thank all applicants for their exceptional submissions and their commitment to the game of chess. We encourage them to continue striving for excellence both in the game and life.
