Kids for Chess Announces 2025 World Youth Chess and World Cadet Chess Championships Scholarships

Kids for Chess, a nonprofit organization with the mission of empowering America’s best youth chess players, will be offering three scholarships for $1,500 each to help qualified players offset the cost of attending the World Cadets and World Youth Chess Championships in 2025.

The Selection Committee will determine the winners of the scholarships based on a combination of the applicant’s chess achievements, academic success, participation in chess-related community service, and genuine need for financial assistance. The application involves providing two essays (one required and one optional), two recommendation letters, and an official transcript from your school.

The application deadline is June 16th, 2025, and all applicants will receive a response by June 30th, 2025.

You can find more information about Kids for Chess and the scholarship application specifically on our website: https://kidsforchess.com/. Please reach out to Brandon Nydick at Click here to show email address if you have any further questions.

Please be aware that these scholarships are funded and administered outside of US Chess by the private organization Kids for Chess.
