2024 Olympiad Teams Announced

The 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad will take place from September 10 through 23 in Budapest, Hungary. Team USA looks to improve on their tied-fourth (fifth on tiebreaks) finish in the Open and tied-third (fourth on tiebreaks) finish in the Women's section of the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad held in 2022 in Chennai, India. 

The following list is the official players, captain, and trainer for the 2024 Olympiad Team USA Open and Women’s teams. The respective team chose their Captains and Trainers.

 

Open Team:

Team USA Open returns four players from 2022, with GM Ray Robson replacing GM Sam Shankland. This year's players are: GMs Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, Leinier Dominguez, Levon Aronian, and Ray Robson.

IM John Donaldson is the Captain, and GM Mikhail Antipov is this year's Trainer. 

 

Women’s Team:

Team USA Women's also returns four players from 2022, with IM Alice Lee taking part instead of WGM Tatev Abrahamyan. This year's players are: GM Irina Krush, IM Carissa Yip, IM Alice Lee, WGM Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova, and IM Anna Zatonskih.
