US Chess to Host Town Hall for Tournament Directors on Sunday, May 5

US Chess will offer an informative Town Hall for Tournament Directors on Sunday, May 5, from 8-9:30 p.m. Eastern time. Panelists for the Town Hall will include TDCC Chair Jeff Wiewel, NTD/IA Martha Underwood, NTD/FA Glenn Panner, Executive Board member David Hater, Executive Director Ranae Bartlett, and Safe Play Manager Melinda Matthews.

The Town Hall will cover:

  • Updates from the TDCC
  • Recap of TD certification requirements
  • New rating system and website updates
  • Safe Play updates
    • SafeSport training deadlines
    • Distinctions between US Chess Safe Play and The U.S. Center for SafeSport
    • How to implement Safe Play at events
    • Review of Safe Play resources on Safe Play Hub
