The Kasparov Chess Foundation is moving its landmark Greater New York and Greater Chicago Scholastic Chess Championships to online format for the 2021 season. In keeping with the tradition, both tournaments are open to K - 12th graders in public, private, charter and home schools. The format for the online events will be modified compared to the established over-the-board events.

“We understand the need for students to learn, play, interact and compete now more than ever,” explained Kasparov Chess Foundation President, Michael Khodarkovsky. “We’re providing a safe tournament infrastructure where the youth can still enjoy the game, while competing for individual and school team prizes,” added Mr. Khodarkovsky.
