Inside Story: Daniel Naroditsky (1995-2025)

Editor's note: these stories first appeared in the December 2025 issue of Chess Life magazine. Consider becoming a US Chess member for more content like this — access to digital editions of both Chess Life and Chess Life Kids is a member benefit, and you can receive print editions of both magazines for a small add-on fee.

The December issue of Chess Life magazine was dedicated to the life and games of GM Daniel Naroditsky, who died tragically in October of this year at the age of 29. A former World Junior Champion, beloved educator, prodigious author, and wildly popular streamer and commentator, Naroditsky had a huge impact on the world of chess.

FM Mike Klein wrote the cover story, and many more players shared annotated games and memories of "Danya," as he was known to friends and fans. US Chess is sharing a downloadable .pdf file of both Klein's story and the collection of annotated games. An online-friendly, low-res version is also available here.

Plus, all games can be downloaded as a .pgn here and reviewed below.
