FIDE Announces 2021 FIDE Online Cadets & Youth Rapid World Cup

FIDE has announced that it is hosting a two-stage tournament, the 2021 FIDE Online Cadets & Youth Rapid World Cup, to be played on the Tornelo platform in August. You can view the full news release at

The Qualifying Stages will be held between August 1-20 (each Qualifying Section is played over 5 different days depending on gender/age), while the Final Stage will be held August 26-30. Please check the complete schedule at to see the exact dates for each section in the Qualifying Stages.

Please note that there is an entry fee of $80, plus an administration fee of $15 (total $95/entry). Each player is permitted to enter only one section based on their gender/age eligibility; you cannot play in multiple sections even if you are eligible to do so. There are 10 sections in total, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18, open and girls for each age group. For each section, players must not have reached their 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, or 18th birthday respectively before January 1, 2021.

The registration deadline for all USA players is July 8, 2021. US Chess can have a maximum of 186 players participate in this event and we will be accepting registrations on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the 186 entries have been received, US Chess will not accept any further entries!

A current US Chess membership through the end of the tournament (August, 2021) is required for all USA participants. A USA-flagged FIDE ID is required for all USA players. If you do not currently have a FIDE ID, please complete our FIDE ID Request Form at
