Executive Board Election: Ballot Order

On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, Executive Director Carol Meyer, Governance Coordinator Rose McMahon, and Chair of the Election Committee Mike Nietman met via Zoom to determine the order in which candidates for the Executive Board would appear both in Chess Life and on the ballot. 

The names of the candidates were placed in an online randomizer. At Carol Meyer’s prompting, Mike Nietman chose the number 'six' as the number of times the names would be run through the randomization process.

The resulting order:

1. Lakshmana "Vish" Viswanath (Texas)
2. John C. Fernandez (Missouri)
3. David A. Hater (Georgia)
4. Leila A. D'Aquin (Louisiana)
5. Fun Fong (Georgia)
6. David T. Day (Utah)

Candidate statements will first appear in the April issue of Chess Life and further statements will be in the May and June issues.
