Chirila Wins National Open: “Summer is Off to a Good Start”

Congratulations to Grandmaster Cristian Chirila, our new National Open Champion. Cristian won the Edmondson Cup and the $8000 prize with 6/7, a half point ahead of Dariusz Swiercz, Illia Nyzhnyk and Nikola Mitkov. The popular commentator and GM called winning the crown event of the Las Vegas Chess Festival “arguably the most challenging victory of my career.”
