Chess Life August 2022

This month, Chess Life recognizes the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Fischer – Spassky world championship match. Our cover story, written by FM Robert Shlyakhtenko, covers the events leading up to the contest, the drama behind the scenes, and its importance in a greater global context. Annotated games are accompanied by stunning photos and illustrations from the match. Our thanks to the Icelandic Chess Heritage Society, the Icelandic Chess Federation, the LeRoy Neiman and Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation, the Saint Louis Chess Club, and our friends at Quality Chess for their cooperation.

The August issue also includes coverage of the Foxwoods Open by GM Benjamin Gledura, the final installment of FM Alex King’s series on the Tarrasch Defense, and a new installment of FM Doug Eckert’s musings on improvement for seniors.

Please note that, due to production delays, the August issue is scheduled to be in your mailbox between August 22 and 27. Our apologies for the disruption in our normal delivery schedule.
