2023 Pan-American Team Championships to Kick Off January 5 in Seattle

The 2023 Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Championship begins January 5th in Seattle, Washington. Open to four-player teams from eligible colleges, the six-round event will take place over four days for both the Open and Under 1800 sections.

Hosted by the Corporate Esports Association, the "Pan Ams" will take place alongside an additional team championship for three-player Intercorporate teams. There will also be an open Swiss for all players in the Seattle area, as well as numerous side events including a blitz tournament and puzzle solving competition.

Additionally, the event will provide networking opportunities, and workshops hosted by its sponsors. While the Pan Ams date back to 1946, and have been running annually since 1962, this new direction in the growth of collegiate chess and its merger with corporate chess is the first tournament of its kind.
