GMs Gregory Kaidanov and Hans Niemann, and IM Annie Wang each scored full points on an otherwise peaceful Thursday to take control of their events.

GM Hans Moke Niemann holds a slight lead in the U.S. Junior Championship, while the Girls Championship is proving a slugfest atop its standings.
