Wednesday Workout: GCT Zagreb Rapid and Blitz

GM Magnus Carlsen won the SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia leg of the Grand Chess Tour with several rounds to spare in the blitz. After an up-and-down performance in the rapid portion with four wins and two losses, Carlsen dominated the blitz, winning all nine of his games on the first day of the Double Round Robin. GM Fabiano Caruana tied for first in the rapid along with GM Ian Nepomniachtchi, but neither player could come close to keeping pace with Carlsen in the rapids.
