US Chess Soliciting Bids for the 2026 North American Junior Championship

US Chess announces the solicitation of bids for hosting the 2026 North American Junior Chess Championships. The Confederation of Chess for Americas (CCA) has awarded the United States of America, FIDE Zone 2.1, the right to host this prestigious tournament in 2026.

Usually, we do not have a guarantee that an event will be located in Zone 2.1 in any given year. Since that is the case for the 2026 North American Juniors, we wish to give any licensed International Organizer in the US the chance to bid.

Please note, the final decision on awarding this event rests with CCA, which has final authority for FIDE continental-level events in North America. US Chess has final authority on which bids to submit for CCA’s consideration.

The bidding process is sealed; no information about any bid is ever revealed to anyone outside the US Chess national office, either before or after the bidding period. We will submit any bid that is deemed to have reasonable terms. All submitted bids will be sent as-is, without comment from US Chess.

Regarding the 2026 North American Juniors, here are some information from CCA to help organizers formulate their bids:

“The entry fee CCA is US $75 for each player. 20% rebate for organizer.

In addition, the organizer may charge up to US$100 for organization costs, which include: event logistics, administrative or tax fees, identification badges, and internal transportation during the event if necessary.

Airport-Hotel-Airport transportation, for example, is not included.

Therefore, the maximum charge would be US$175 per player. An additional fee for late registration is not feasible, although we have agreed that there may be a difference in the cost of hotel and meals in these cases, but it must be included in that item.”

Interested and qualified organizers should submit their bid electronically in a PDF or Word document to Click here to show email address by Friday, Nov. 7, 5 p.m. CSTPlease do not submit your bid to individual US Chess employees. US Chess is not responsible for the consideration of any bid that is not submitted in compliance with the instructions per this announcement.
