US Chess Seeking HOD and Trainers for 2025 International Youth Events

US Chess is seeking applicants for the positions of Heads of Delegation (HOD) and Coaches (Trainers) for the 2025 FIDE International Youth events.

The policy for selection is posted on the US Chess website. The three events covered by this process are: 

  • 2025 Pan-Am Youth (U8-U18) Chess Championships, July 27 - August 3, Lima, Peru
  • 2025 World Cadet (U8, U10, U12) Chess Championships, September 18 - October 1, Almaty, Kazakhstan
  • 2025 World Youth (U14, U16, U18) Chess Championships, October 3 - October 16, Durres, Albania

**(2025 World Cadet event regulations are not yet published, so these dates are only official when the event regulations are published by FIDE and/or the organizer)

Applicants for the position of HOD or for the position of Coach (also known as Trainers), must be a licensed FIDE Trainer. Find additional information about the FIDE Trainers’ System here.

A complete application will consist of the following:

  1. Application letter that specifies which event(s) are desired, and which position(s) are desired for each event
  2. Current resume
  3. A list of at least three professional references

Completed applications must be submitted ONLY to Brian Yang, US Chess FIDE Events Manager, at brian.yang@uschess.org. Do not cc: any other US Chess email addresses with your submission. 

Each successful applicant must complete US Chess SafeSport Training, https://new.uschess.org/us-chess-safe-play-hub, no later than 2 week before the tournament's start date.

Completed applications must be received no later than Friday, June 13, 2025, 5:00 p.m. CDT.  Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
