Tactics Tuesday: FIDE World Rapid & Blitz, Pt. 7 (Pourkashiyan, Foisor, Cervantes)

Today's Tactics Tuesday continues a multi-week feature on the 2024 FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championships, held December 26 through 31 in New York. Our coverage of the rapid and blitz events focused on the winners, but several dozen Americans competed and many gained rating and delivered some nice upsets. So, we'll be taking a look at their games for the next few weeks!

This week's puzzles focus on three American regulars at Saint Louis Chess Club (SLCC) events. Former U.S. Women's Champion WGM Sabina Foisor is now a regular commentator and interviewer at SLCC, as well as for the US Chess Youtube. Her most recent guest was WGM Atousa Pourkashiyan, who has become a regular competitor at SLCC events.

Finally, WGM Thalia Cervantes has competed in several U.S. Girls' Junior Championships before becoming a U.S. Women's Championship regular in 2021. Enjoy highlights from these three players' games, and keep an eye out for more from them in tomorrow's Wednesday Workout.
