Results in: Lenderman Wins US Open

GM Aleksander Lenderman of New York took clear first at the US Open in Norfolk, VA with a final score of 8/9. In the penultimate round he defeated Alexander Shabalov, who won the previous two editions of the US Open in 2015 and 2016. In round nine, Lenderman prevailed over teenaged Grandmaster Ruifeng Li of Texas (b 2001). With this victory, Lenderman earns the title and a spot into next year's US Championship.
