UPDATE SUNDAY, 7:00 AM CT: K-5 Sunday Rounds Canceled. Click here for details.

On behalf of US Chess and ChessKid we apologize to the players affected by today’s issues during the K-12 Showdown. Unfortunately, all of the K-5 grade sections were compromised by a large batch of invalid usernames that caused our pairing systems to slow to a crawl. This resulted in a long delay during the first few rounds. We thank you for your understanding and patience - especially the determined young players who stuck it out for the long haul - and we are committed to improving our methods for future major online events.

We are inspired by the enthusiasm for this event.  The number of participants approached Magnus Carlsen's peak rating! Again, thank you for your incredible patience.
