A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Jacques moved to Missouri almost 10 years ago and has made it his home along with his wife of 26 years, Melanie, and their son, Mason. Before joining US Chess, Jacques served as a litigation attorney, corporate general counsel, and nonprofit leader.

He’s stationed in the St. Louis office and is responsible for the business side of US Chess, including budgeting and oversight of Communications/Publications, HR, Accounting, and member complaint functions.

Jacques holds a B.A. in economics/business management from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and a J.D. from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. He has a passion for collaboration and a history of successfully engaging multiple stakeholders and incorporating their input to achieve mission goals and financial objectives.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jacques enjoys breeding and training Drahthaar hunting dogs, cooking, gardening, and keeping bees, and he’s a certificated private pilot. He is admittedly a pretty poor chess player but is planning on working to improve his game.
