Back to School with the US Chess Girls Club Featuring WIM Dr. Alexey Root

The online US Chess Girls Club is back. Check out a lesson from the Spring by Chess expert Darrian Robinson, who went on from chess to a successful academic career at the University of Chicago, and onto Columbia University for an MBA. She now works in finance in New York City. She spoke to the girls club about chess and confidence, her experience at a World Youth Event, and hung out with host Jennifer Shahade to commentate on a blitz tournament the girls played. https://youtu.be/hr1U0JGWA74

Next up for the Girls Club is a session with WIM Dr. Alexey Root, author of the recent "United States Women's Chess Champions, 1937-2020", a great book to enjoy as the 2022 US Women's Championship is in full swing. Alexey will speak about the question "Is Chess a Sport?"

Female members of US Chess can sign up for her session, set for Thursday, October 13 at 7 PM ET here.
