2021 Absolute Championship Field Announced

The US Chess Absolute Correspondence Chess Championship has been held annually since its inception in 1976 and the 2021 Absolute Championship will be the 46th edition of this prestigious tournament. Participants in this year's event were invited based on their rating in the December 2020 US Chess CC rating list, with all of those accepting sitting within the top 20.

As usual, the event will be held on the International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF) server, be ICCF rated, and will utilize ICCF rules making this is the only US Chess CC event in which computer assistance in making moves is permitted. The action will commence on March 1, 2021 and usually takes about 2 years to complete.

This year's participant list contains 5 Absolute Champions, Harry Ingersol (2010, 2017, 2019), Kristo Miettinen (2015), Keith Rodriguez (2005), Danny Horwitz (2016) and David Sogin (2009) as well as Golden Knights Champion James Tracz (2006, 2011) and Electronic Knights Champions John Millett (2015), Chris Lewis (2014) and Tim Corkum (2011). A total of 9 US Chess CC Champions out of 13 players!
