2020 Pan-American Intercollegiate Championships Cancelled - UPDATE

US Chess announces the cancellation of the 2020 Pan-American Intercollegiate Chess Championships.

This event was scheduled for December 26-30 at the University of Toronto.  Logistical difficulties connected to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and how it would complicate travel across the Canadian border, led to this unfortunate but understandable decision.  US Chess thanks Hart House Chess Club for their efforts to make the event work.

As of this writing, there are no definitive plans to reschedule this event.  Any updates regarding this matter will be posted here by US Chess as they become available.

UPDATE 9/3/2020:  The College Chess Committee is drafting new rules for online tournaments this year and their requirements.  More to come!

UPDATE 10/1/2020: Bids are requested for a 2020-2021 Pan-American Intercollegiate Chess Championship, to be played January 3-6, 2021.
