 Players from other states are welcome to compete for cash awards (and fun). Titles & plaques for Oklahoma residents only.

 Format: Swiss, 7 double rounds
 Time control: G/3;+2

 Schedule: Onsite registration ($40) 9:30–10 a.m. Round one at 10:30. Back-to-back rounds with a break for lunch. Nearby lunch options include  Manvel Avenue Coffee Co., Boomerang Diner, and Giorgio’s Pizzeria.  Sections: Championship (Open), Reserve (U1600), Amateur (U1000)
 US Chess regular ratings used for section & pairing purposes.

 Prizes: Plaques will be awarded to Oklahoma resident division champions.
Championship winner $200 guaranteed. Other cash prize estimates  (based on 30 paid entries): 

 CHAMPIONSHIP 2nd $100, 3rd $50
 |  RESERVE 1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50
 |  AMATEUR 1st $75

 

 Registration

 Entry $30 by October 30. After October 30: $40.  Free advance entry for Masters+ with EF deducted from prizes.
 Enter online at https://www.oklahomachess.org/tournaments/blitz. Onsite registration from 9:30 to 10 a.m. 


 Tiebreaks for first place only*:
    1    Head-to-head results
    2    G/5 blitz match
    3    Armageddon
 *All others use mathematical tiebreaks in the US Chess-recommended order: Modified Median, Solkoff, Cumulative, Cumulative of Opposition.  Tiebreaks are for titles & trophies only. Cash prizes are not affected by tiebreaks.

 Our tournaments are run in accordance with the Rules of Chess, 7th Edition by Tim Just for US Chess. It is the player’s responsibility to know  the rules that govern tournament play.  Safe play
 Oklahoma Chess Association tournaments are run in accordance with US Chess Safe Play policies ( https://new.uschess.org/sites/default/files/media/documents/us-chess-safe-play-guidelines.pdf). Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated  and should be reported to the tournament director.

 

 US Chess membership
 A current US Chess membership is required for all rated tournaments. Players without a current US Chess membership will not be paired.


 Running late? Need to cancel?
 Players who register after the posted cutoff time will be given a first-round bye in Swiss tournaments. If you have a last-minute change of plans  and won't be coming, send a text to (405) 642-6136. (Earlier cancellations email [email protected].)

 

Refunds
A player can receive a refund if they cancel up to one hour before the tournament start time. Players who no-show do not receive a refund.
