SECTIONS:
2 Sections:   Open (min 1500) and U1600
Adults (ages 13+) of all rating levels are eligible to participate.  (Under 13 eligible if rating 1000+).

ROUNDS/TIME CONTROL:
4 Rounds SS, G/75,+30  (USCF rated)

PRIZES:
$625 based on 24 paid entries
Open: 1st $200, 2nd $100, Top U2000 not otherwise placing, $50
U1600 1st $150, 2nd  $75, Top U1400, not otherwise placing $50
Players tied within a section share prizes equally.

ENTRY FEE:
Early EF: $50 by 11:59PM Thursday prior;  ($40 Early EF for HCC club members);   Free Early EF for HCC mbr rated 2000+ by 11:59PM Thurs prior (entry fee will be deducted from prize)
Regular EF: $60 by 11:00AM Jan 15 day tournament beginsl ($50 Regular EF for HCC club members)

BYES: 
Up to two 1/2 point byes are available for (for particular Sundays) and must be requested prior to start of round 1. If schedule shifts because of a snow/weather postponement, requested byes will be for the particular date (not the round).

OTHER:

• All players must be current members of US Chess (go to USCHESS.org to join or renew your membership/membership ID number)
• Players must register in advance
• Tournament is limited to the first 36 players who register; entries are first registered, first served
• All adult players ages 13+ of any rating level are eligible; Players under 13 who have a US Chess rating of 1000+.are also eligible.   (Scholastic players of lower ages and ratings should also see our Monthly Scholastic Tournaments offered on Saturdays, which are open to all students (K-12) of all rating levels).
• A small section may be combined to avoid players playing each other twice in a small section; if sections are combined then accelerated pairings will be used and prizes distributed based on relative performance within the section which player registered for.
• Any changes due to snow or inclement weather will also be posted at PlayMoreChess.com and emailed to registrants.

WITHDRAWALS/CONTACT:

• If you cannot make it to the tournament, and have to withdraw, email:  [email protected].  A request for a refund may be made no later than Thursday, 11:59PM (Thursday prior to tournament).  Refunds for this tournament must be requested by email and are subject to a $15 cancellation fee.

Free parking is available on behind the Academy, including free street parking on Putnam/Lake Drive that goes behind the Academy and adjacent Books and Co. CT Transit Bus stop is adjacent to Academy at intersection of Putnam/Whitney Ave.
