8th Annual ChessHelpsTournament

ChessHelps is an organization dedicated to help raise funds for the School and the Community! This event will raise funds for Basis Chandler and for chess organizations.

NOTE: ALL players/parents/attendees will be required to wear masks at all times on school premises. Masks must be worn properly, covering the nose and mouth. Your registration for this event signifies your acceptance of the policy.

 

BASIS Chandler, 4825 S. Arizona Avenue, Chandler, AZ 85248.
Near the intersection of Arizona Avenue and Chandler Heights (next to Alamo Drafthouse).

4-round Swiss tournament based on rating.
USCF Rated sections (March Supplement used).
Proof of current USCF membership required. If not a USCF member, please join at: https://secure2.uschess.org/webstore/member.php prior to registering.

HOW TO REGISTER:

Registration online at www.events4chess.com.
Online registration closes at 6pm, March 18. On-site registration closes at 8:30am, March 19. 1/2 point bye for any round (max 2) if requested prior to Round 1.

$25 by March 8. $30 by March 18 at 6pm. $35 on site (may receive 1⁄2 pt. bye first round). GM/IM/FM/WGM/WIM may request FREE Entry. Contact Prateek Pinisetti, (480) 938-7333.

 

SECTIONS:

By USCF Rating: Premier (2000+), U2000; U1600; U1200, U500.
Current tournament history or March supplement must be within 100 points to play up ($10 fee).

SCHEDULE:

U1600; U2000; Premier (2000+): 4 Rounds Swiss System. Rounds at 9am, 11:30am, 2pm, and 4:30pm.

U500; U1200: 4 Rounds Swiss System. Rounds at 9am, 10:45am, 12:30pm, and 2:15pm. An awards ceremony will take place after the last round is complete.

 

TIME CONTROL:

U1600; U2000; Premier (2000+): Game in 60 minutes (per player); delay clocks set at 60 min + 5 sec delay. U500; U1200: Game in 40 minutes (per player); delay clocks set at 40 min + 5 sec delay.

Please bring chess clocks, none provided. Players are responsible for bringing and setting their own clocks, and explaining their operation when asked.

 

AWARDS:

Premier (2000+): 1st place - $100, 2nd place - $75, 3rd place -$50. All other sections: Top 3 will be given gift cards.
