5-SS, 40/80, SD/30; d30 (2-day option, rounds 1-2 G/60 d10), Westin Chicago North Shore Hotel, 601 North Milwaukee Ave., Wheeling, IL 60090 (from Chicago, I-294 north to US-45 north; from Milwaukee, I-94 to Lake Cook Rd to US-45 south). Free parking. $20,000 guaranteed prizes. In 7 sections. 1.) Premier (2000/up,): $2000-1000-500-300, clear win or 1st on tiebreak $100, top USCF U2300 $800-400. FIDE. 2.) 1800-2099: $1400-700-400-200. FIDE. 3.) 1600-1899/Unr: $1400-700-400-200. 4.) 1400-1699/Unr: $1300-700-400-200. 5.) 1200-1499/Unr: $1200-600-400-200. 6.) Under 1300/Unr: $1000-500-300-200. 7.) Under 1100/Unr: $500-300-200-100. These expanded rating class boundaries allow players rated in the top 100 points of their section the option of playing up in the class above (see peakrating.us). Mixed Doubles bonus prizes: best male+female 2-player team combined score among all sections: $800-400-200. Team must average under 2200; may play in different sections and schedules; register (no extra fee) at site by 2 pm Sat. Unrated prize limits: $100 U1100, $200 U1300, $300 1200-1499, $400 1400-1699, $500 1600-1899, remaining balance of limited prize paid to next eligible player(s). Top 6 sections EF: $118 online at chessaction.com by 10/7, all $140 later online or at site until 1 hour before round 1. Under 1100 EF: all $40 less than above. All: No checks, credit cards OK. Online EF $5 less to ICA members; join/renew at il-chess.org. Unofficial or Online Regular uschess.org ratings usually used if otherwise unrated.
