Event Overview

The Downriver Chess Club presents our first event in a lower Decatur Street classic venue, Turtle Bay!

Registration: Click here to secure your spot! On site registration is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Tournament details: Three round, two-section, swiss system, G/25;d5, USCF dual-rated tournament. Sections to be determined by splitting the final entry list into top and lower halves.

Date: Wednesday, October 25, registration at 6:00PM, first round pairs for 6:30PM. Please do not enter the building prior to 6:00PM!

Venue: Turtle Bay, 1119 Decatur. Come ready to eat and drink! All ages welcome.

Notation: Optional.

Prize fund: 70% of entry fees returned as prizes. Prizes split equally between top and bottom sections. Prizes for first place only.

Sections: TD will adjust sections to match turnout. Accelerated swiss system will be used for pairing if section contains 8 or more players.

Pairing: The TDs will assign you to your section. If you have a regular rating and a quick rating, the higher rating will be used. If you have only a regular rating or a quick rating, that rating will be used. You may check your section upon registration.

Eligibility: $10 entry fee if purchased by 10/23/23. $15 at the door. Capacity limited to the first 40 players, pre-register to guarantee your slot. Bye policy: Two 0.5 point byes available upon request, must be made prior to pairing round three in non-emergency situations. Bye requests cannot be cancelled following the start of round 2.

Tiebreaks: Cash prizes to be split among all tied entrants.
