Vermont Open

EVENT OVERVIEW

Format: 5SS, 40/90, SD/30, +30. 

Schedule: On-site registration Friday 5:30pm-6:30pm AND Sat. 9:30 AM-10:30AM (Saturday on-site entrants will automatically be given a half point bye for round 1). 

Rounds: Friday 7 PM, Saturday 11 AM & 4 PM, Sunday 10 AM & 3 PM.

Sections: Championship (1700+), U1825, U1425

Byes: limit one half-point bye in any round except round 5 in Championship section, must request by Saturday at 3:30 PM. 

Location: University of Vermont, Old Mill 325, 94 University Place, Burlington, VT 05405. 

Parking: Closest free parking is the UVM Medical Lot, 41-43 South Prospect St., ~2 min. walk. 

Hotel: Delta Hotels Burlington, 1117 Williston Road, South Burlington, Vermont 05403, has rooms at a discounted rate ($119) for tournament participants, please visit THIS LINK to reserve. Rooms must be reserved by October 9th.

Entry fee: $55 if received by 11/09, $65 after/at site. Ent: make check payable to Chittenden County Chess Club and mail to 69 Russell Street, Apt. #1, Winooski, VT 05404 or submit entry fee via PayPal to chittendencountychessvt@gmail.com. Fill out the Google form below with your entry.

Prizes: $2,000 prize fund ($1000 guaranteed) based on fifty entrants. 

Championship (1700+): $350-200, top U2100 $175, top U1950 $125. State Champion title to highest scoring Vermont resident...

U1825: $275-175, top U1625 $120-80.

U1425: $200-125, top U1225 $105-70. 

Unrated prize limits: $100 in U1825, $50 in U1425.

Equipment: Please bring your own sets/clocks, if possible, some provided at request.
