Event Overview
The UVM Classic and Quads will take place on January 24/25.
This event will be a fundraiser for the UVM Chess Club. All excess proceeds from entry fees will directly fund club travel & entry to tournaments during the rest of the academic year.
 
Check In 9:30am on Saturday. Game 1 to start 10am.
We provide chess boards, pieces and clocks – feel free to bring your own.
 
Classic
Format: 4SS 90+30
Sections: Open & U1700
Entry fee: $35 if sent on/before January 24
Schedule: Rounds 10am and 3pm on both Sat/Sun
Byes: There is a limit of one half-point bye in any round, must request before start of round 2.
Prizes: $500 based on 24 players! Open - $200, $100. U1700 - $125, $75
Awarded Sun night via Venmo or PayPal
 
Quads on Saturday Jan 24 (alongside the 2-day tournament, primarily for lower rated players)
Format: 3 games 30/5d
Entry fee: $25
Schedule: Check 9:30am on Saturday. Round 1 at 10am
No Byes
Prizes: $60 per quad
