US Chess / ICC Rapids

FORMAT:  Six rounds, Swiss System, time control G/15+3 (15 minutes, plus three seconds increment per move from move 1).

ONLINE EVENT:  Played at Internet Chess Club (chessclub.com).  Must be on Zoom (use real name) to be eligible for prizes (side/rear camera angle). 

Four sections.  Open Section:  Open to all, including unrated.  U2200: Open to under 2200, no unrated.  U1800:  Open to under 1800, no unrated.  U1400:  Open to under 1400, no unrated.  

Rating policy:  Highest of US Chess February OTB regular, OTB quick, online regular, and online quick ratings used.  US Chess reserves the right to assign ratings.  See tournament website for full details: http://www.uschess.org/tournaments/2021/iccrapids.  

Prizes:  Plus-score prizes – your score determines your prize!  Open:  6.0=$1200, 5.5=$600, 5.0=$300, 4.5=$150, 4.0=$75, 3.5=$40.  U2200:  6.0=$800, 5.5=$400, 5.0=$200, 4.5=$100, 4.0=$50, 3.5=$25.  U1800: 6.0=$600, 5.5=$300, 5.0=$150, 4.5=$75, 4.0=$40, 3.5=$20.  U1400:  6.0=$400, 5.5=$200, 5.0=$100, 4.5=$50, 4.0=$25, 3.5=$15.  Prizes will be paid after ICC completes a fair-play review of all games in all sections (approx. 2-3 weeks after event). 

Entry fee:  $60 by January 18, $80 by January 25, $100 after.  Entry deadline: 11pm Eastern Wednesday, February 3 (no exceptions).  Note:  Players under 2200 who want to play the Open section will be charged an additional $100 after entering.  See tournament website for full details: http://www.uschess.org/tournaments/2021/iccrapids.

Schedule:  U1800/U1400:  Play only on Saturday, February 6.  Open/U2200:  Play only on Sunday, February 7.  Start times for each round, both days (Eastern time):  11am-12:15pm-2pm-3:15pm-4:30pm-5:45pm.  Be online by 10:30am Eastern to receive Round 1 pairing.
