UNG Gaming Con Chess Tournament

On March 29th, 2025, there will be a 4-round USCF-rated chess tournament at the University of North Georgia, Dahlonega Campus.

Time control: G/45;d5

Round times: 11:00 am, 1:15 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:45 pm.

Prize fund: 75% of the entry fees.

Championship section: 1st place: 30%, 2nd place: 20%

U1100 section: 1st place: 15%, 2nd place: 10%

Entry fee is $15. Two sections: Championship and U1100. Sections may be combined or added if needed. On-site registration is allowed but requires a badge from the convention. 

Registration: Register for the Dual Rated Tournament

Gaming convention badge is not required for the dual rated tournament. 

Some equipment will be provided, but you are welcome to play on your own boards. Please bring clocks.

The event will be held at, Young Hall, 2 College Cir, Dahlonega, GA 30597.

There will be a $5 blitz tournament after the main tournament with an Open section and a non-USCF-rated section. Free entry for the non-USCF section. The tournament starts at 6:45 pm and uses a time control of G/3;+5, with 7 rounds and Swiss pairings.

Prize fund:

• Open section: 1st place 40%, 2nd place 20%, 3rd place 15%

The non-USCF section is for players without USCF memberships. On-site registration is allowed.
 

Blitz Registration: Register for the Blitz Tournament

You must register for a badge on the UNG Nighthawks Gaming Convention Website, then register and pay for the tournament on Chess Register.
