Ultimate Chess Cruise

CHESS EVENT INFORMATION AND SCHEDULE:

All official chess events will be held at La Cucina dining area.
Main Tournament Events will be held from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Sea Days
All EVENING events will be held from 10:00 PM – Midnight.
 

$150 registration fee covers all events. Boards, sets and clocks provided. Bring your own if you’d like.
 

The main classical tournament (G/75; d5) across 3 sea days will have a US Chess Rated Open section as
well as a casual section. With enough participants, sections may be broken down further to account for
a wide range of skill levels. US Chess rules will be used for all games (rated and casual). 

Prizes for main classical tournament for 1st 2nd and 3rd place:  Rated section:  Cash prizes based on entries.  Casual Section:  Trophies
 

There will be a series of 6 evening side events, beginning with a casual chess mixer, and followed by 5
official competitions. Side event points will accumulate throughout the week, and trophies will be
awarded to the top finishers in each section after the final side event.

Main Tournament Rounds 1 and 2 (G/75; d5)

Blitz Arena (Nonstop games, G/3; d2)

Tuesday June 29
Evening Event:
Freestyle Chess (Chess 960) Quick Tournament
3 Rounds of G/15; d3; Positions will be drawn on site

Wednesday June 30
Main Tournament Rounds 3 - 4 (G/75; d5)
8:00 AM – Round 1
11:00 AM – Round 2

Evening Event:
3 Rounds of Musical Chess
(Fun, chaotic elimination game, think musical chairs!)

Thursday July 1
Evening Event:
3 Round Rapid Tournament (G/15; d3)

Friday July 2 (DAY OFF)

Saturday July 3
Main Tournament Rounds 5 - 6 (G/75; d5)
8:00 AM – Round 1
11:00 AM – Round 2

Evening Event:
Side Event Finals / Awards
(Blitz G/5)

Players are expected to arrive on time, or preferably 5 minutes early to each event. If a player is late,
their clock will be started when the round begins, and will tick down until they arrive and make their
first move. If a player needs to miss an event, PLEASE let the organizer know before the event begins so
that you are not paired against an opponent who will be waiting for no one!
