Texas November Scholastic Scholarship Event

All K-12th players may play in this event regardless of residency

3 Sections: K-12 Championship, K-12 U1400, and K-12th U800

K-12th Championship- Trophies/Plaques to top 8 individual players and top 2 teams. 1st place individually will be rewarded a $500 scholarship.

K-12th U1400- Trophies/Plaques to top 8 individual players and top 2 teams. 1st place individually will be rewarded a $250 scholarship.

K-12th U800 Trophies/Plaques to top 8 individual players and top 2 teams. 1st place individually will be rewarded a $250 scholarship.

Scholarship awards are doubled if the player is a Blakeman Chess Member. Must have became a member before the tournament began.

In the main event a team is defined as two or more players from the same school in the same section. Teams can be however large they would like to be. However when we calculate a teams score we only use the top 4 performing players from that team.

Schedule

5 Rounds G30 D5. USCF Rated.

Projected schedule: 1st round, 9:00AM. 2nd round, 10:30AM. 3rd round, 12:00AM. Lunch break, till 2:00PM. 4th round, 2:00PM. 5th round, 3:30PM. Awards ceremony, 5:00PM.

None of the scholarships will be split, if multiple players have the same score the winner will be determined by the best tiebreaks. Scholarships are only split if multiple people finish with five points.

Registration and additional info

Early registration is $32 online, and will be $40 after Nov 16th. Online registration and will close at 11:59pm Nov 17th. On-site registration will be 8-8:30am tournament morning at $50. Members do not get free if they register tournament day.

Notation is only required in the Championship section. Boards and clocks are provided.

Entry is fully refundable at any time until Nov 16th.
