Texas Norm Super Swiss on National Chess Day Week

Texas Norm Super Swiss
Wednesday, October 8th to Monday, October 13th, 2025—at the new Houston location of the Texas Chess Center on 4007 Bellaire Blvd Suite HH, Houston, TX 77025 .

Aims to meet FIDE’s strictest norm requirements, with one round per day over three consecutive days (1.1.3a) and 40 player Swiss requirement (1.5.6a) .

Participation is limited to 48 players. Guaranteeing at least 8 GMs regardless of # of paid entries.

Prizes
$10,000 Prize fund based on 48 players
1st/2nd place prizes are 100% guaranteed
$3000 - $2000 - $1600 - $1300 - $1100 - $700 - $300

Participants MUST play in all 9 rounds to be eligible for both norms and prizes. 

Eligibility
Accepting registration requests from players currently FIDE rated 2000 or higher only. Refer to your FIDE rating at time of registration or for the month of October 2025. US Chess masters rated 2200 or higher, please seek further review from the organizers for eligibility.

Entry Fees
Free entry for Foreign Federation GMs (no EF deduction from any awarded prizes)
Free entry for USA federation GMs ($300 deducted from any prize winnings)
Other conditions may be offered to other titled players on a case-by-case basis dependent on availability and number of players registered.
$845 standard entry fee for all other players. $865 if paying via credit card.
