Texas July Scholarship Event - $2,500

All K-12th players may play in this event regardless of residency. Must be in K-12th grade to play, graduating class of 2021 is eligible to play as well.

K-12th Championship- Trophies to top 12 individual players and top 2 teams. Individual scholarships include, 1st, $1,000 scholarship, 2nd, $500 scholarship, Top U1600 $250 scholarship.

K-12th U1400- Trophies to top 12 individual players and top 2 teams. 1st place individually will win a $500 scholarship.

K-12th Blitz- Trophies to top 8 individuals. A $250 scholarship will be awarded to first place.

In the main event a team is defined as two or more players from the same school in the same section. Teams can be however large they would like to be. However when we calculate a teams score we only use the top 4 performing players from that team.

Schedule

Main event = 5 Rounds G30 D5. Blitz Event = 5 rounds G3;D2 USCF Rated.

Projected schedule: 1st round, 9:00AM. 2nd round, 10:20AM. 3rd round, 11:40AM. Lunch break, 1:00PM-2:30PM. 4th round, 2:30PM. 5th round, 3:50PM. Awards ceremony, 5:20PM.

The blitz mini event will take place during the first half of lunch break from 1:00pm-1:45pm, leaving plenty of time for the blitz participants to get lunch afterwards. Blitz registration costs $34. Blitz registration is only online, there will be no onsite registration. The blitz event will be five rounds of G/3;D/2. Trophies awarded to top 8 players individually and a $250 scholarship will be awarded to the winner.

Registration and additional info

Early main event registration is $78, after July 18th late entry will be $94. Online registration will close July 23rd at midnight. There will be no on site registration, only online.

None of the scholarships will be split, if multiple players have the same score the winner will be determined by the best tiebreaks.

Blitz registration is $34 and can only be purchased online.
