Event Overview

Structure

- 3 rounds Swiss-Style.  G75 +15.  Accelerated pairings at the director's discretion.

- One half-point bye is available for any round, but must be requested before tournament start. All other requested byes are zero points.

- Clocks, boards, and weighed plastic pieces are provided. Players may use their own equipment with agreement of their opponent.

Schedule

- Round times: 10:00 am / 1:15 pm / 4:30 pm. Players should arrive no later than 9:45 am.

Registration

- Registration fee: $40 if registered by September 5 (11:59pm), $50 after.

- Online registration only.  Registration closes at 9:00 p.m. the night before the event.  Late registrations may or may not be accepted at the TD's discretion.

- All sections in this tournament have a minimum rating to participate.

Under 1400 = 1000 USCF rating minimum

Under 1800 = 1300 USCF rating minimum

- This event has no age restrictions.

- All ratings are assessed based on the published USCF rating supplement for the month the tournament takes place. "Live" or "up-to-date" ratings may be accepted at the director's discretion.

- Players signing up for a section they are not eligible to join will be automatically shifted to the appropriate section.

$640 guaranteed in prizes

Prizes are paid out via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. Check-by-mail available for anyone without these options.

U1800 section

- 1st place: $160

- 2nd place: $100

- Top U1600: $60

U1400 section

- 1st place: $160

- 2nd place: $100

- Top U1200: $60

- The tournament director for this event is Stephen Lorimor. Bye requests and other issues may be e-mailed to sdlorimor@comcast.net, or by voice/text to 908-286-0720. Note that he may not notice or respond to e-mails, texts, or calls after 9:00 am the day of the event.

- The venue is located within walking distance of multiple restaurants and fast food businesses.  No food is allowed at the playing tables, but a waiting room with tables is available.
