Event Overview

Note: This is a dual USCF - FIDE section of a larger USCF tournament (Super Sunday).  Please read the information carefully.  For the other sections and more events, please check out https://chesskq.com/tournament.

Structure

- 3 rounds Swiss-Style.  G75 +15.  Accelerated pairings at the director's discretion.

- One half-point bye is available for any round, but must be requested before tournament start. All other requested byes are zero points.

- Clocks, boards, and weighed plastic pieces are provided. Players may use their own equipment with agreement of their opponent.

- FIDE notice: Rules for late arrival will match standard USCF rules.

Schedule

- Round times: 10:00 am / 1:15 pm / 4:30 pm. Players should arrive no later than 9:45 am.

USCF

- A current USCF membership is required to play. 

- Players MUST have at least a 1700 USCF rating (live or current published) to play.  

FIDE

A valid FIDE ID is required to play.  Most players with a valid USCF membership may request one at this URL.  Note that it may take several days to process.  https://tinyurl.com/3zcjwmex

- There is no minimum FIDE rating for this event.  There is a maximum rating of 2399.

- FIDE norms are not available at this event.

Registration

- Registration fee: $40 if registered by September 5 (11:59pm), $50 after.

- Online registration only.  Registration closes at 9:00 p.m. the night before the event.  Late registrations may be accepted at the TD's discretion.

- Free entry for all players rated 2200 or higher. ($40 will be deducted from the player's prize winnings.) E-mail name, USCF ID, and FIDE ID to Stephen Lorimor at sdlorimor@comcast.net to sign up.

- This event has no age restrictions.

- Players signing up for a section they are not eligible to join will be automatically shifted to the appropriate section.

Prizes

Prizes are paid out via Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. Check-by-mail available for anyone without these options.

- 1st place: $200

- 2nd place: $100

- Top U2000: $60

- The venue is located within walking distance of multiple restaurants and fast food businesses.  No food is allowed at the playing tables, but a waiting room with tables is available.
