Southside Atlanta Open

On May 25th, there will be a USCF rated tournament hosted by Southside Atlanta Chess Club at Creekside Christian Academy. The tournament will consist of four rounds of G/60;d5 (sixty minutes per side, five second delay). The schedule is: 

Round one: 9:00 

Round two: 11:15 

Round three: 2:00 

Round four: 4:15 

There are three rated sections: Open, U1600, and U1000, as well as a non-USCF rated section. IF YOU HAVE A USCF ACCOUNT BUT HAVEN’T PLAYED IN A TOURNAMENT, YOU ARE CONSIDERED “RATED.” Registration is $25 until May 1st, $30 until May 22nd, and $40 until May 25th. $50 onsite registration is accepted until 8:45am. Any registrations after this time will have to take a zero point bye for the first round. Half-point byes are available for each round upon request. Please bring boards and clocks. 

Prizes are as follows: 

Open: 1st - $100, 2nd - $50

U1600: 1st - $70, 2nd - $35

U100: 1st - $50, 2nd - $25

non-USCF: 1st - $25

(Or 1st - 40% and 2nd - 20% of registration per section, whichever is higher)

There will also be a trophy for the first place in every section.
