South Carolina Scholastic Chess Championships 2022

Date:  Saturday, April 2, 2022           SC Residents only

Location: Hampton Park Christian School, 875 State Park Rd, Greenville, SC 29609

Format: 5-Round Swiss System; T/C G/30, d5; HS & MS Rds 4 & 5 G/45, d5

Entry Fee:   $25 by Mar 31, 2022; $35 after. Sets provided; bring a clock if you have one.

USCF membership required.  Please bring your membership card. 

Sections: High Sch (9^th-12^th gr); Middle Sch (6^th-8^th gr); Girls (K-12^th); Elementary Sch (K-5^th gr); Primary (K-3rd gr). Girls section winner is SC Girls Champion & qualifies for later Haring Tournament at US Open

Prizes:

1^st-10^th place trophies in each section.

1^st-3^rd  place trophies to top teams in each section.

1^st placers receive invitations & stipend for Denker (HS), Barber (MS), Rockefeller (K-5), Haring (Girls) tournaments at US Open, August 2022, Rancho Mirage, CA. Please provide proof of SC residence.

Note: Primary K-3 is for new players; ambitious youngsters may play in K-5 for the Elementary Sch title.

Final Registration and Check-in 8:30 am – 9:45 am.  Players must compete within their grade levels.

(Anyone not registered by 9:45 am will not be paired for the first round, but may play the remainder.)

Round 1  10:00 - 11:00                                          Round 3  1:15 -  2:15

Round 2  11:15 - 12:15                                            Round 4 2:30 - 3:30 (HS & MS: 2:30 - 4:00)

Lunch      12:15 - 1:15                                             Round 5 3:45 - 4:45 (HS & MS: 4:15 – 5:45)
