SMCC Summer Open (G/60;d5) & Club Blitz Championship (G/5+3)

On August 9, the Springfield, MO. Chess Club will host its annual Club Blitz Championship.  On August 10, we will have our annual SMCC Summer Open.  Players are welcome to enter one or both events.  While the open has prizes, the Blitz Championship and any extra money earned at the SMCC Summer Open will be split between the club and a donation to the Southside Senior Center.

Friday August 9 – SMCC Blitz Championship
7-round Swiss G/5+3. US Chess blitz rated. Round 1 begins at 7:30 PM. Following rounds begin as soon as pairings are ready. $7 entry. Top finishing club member wins a spot in the Club Candidates. Location: Southside Senior Center 2215 South Fremont in Springfield, MO.

Saturday August 10 – SMCC Summer Open
4-round Swiss G/60;d5. US Chess regular and quick rated. Round 1 at 10:00 AM, round 2 at 12:15 PM, round 3 at 3:00 PM, round 4 at 5:15 PM or following the end of round 3 if players agree. $20 entry if paid in July. $30 entry August 1 and after. Free entry for national masters and experts who sign up to play by the end of July. Free entry and a sticker for first 3 grandmasters. Open and under 1400 (regular rating) sections. Sections may be combined. Open section will be accelerated Swiss if more than 16 players. Prizes based on 20 players: $100 to first, $75 to second, top U1400 $75.  Location: Southside Senior Center 2215 South Fremont in Springfield, MO.
