Chesskiddo is thrilled to announce the new added section Starter, it is specifically designed for K-3 students to experience their first chess tournament!

Why Join?

• Beginner-Friendly: Ideal for young students starting their chess tournament adventure.
• Assistance Available: Helpers will assist during games.
• No Membership Needed: US Federation membership is not required.
• No Pressure: Points won’t count, ensuring a stress-free experience.
• Experience: Little ones will experience a chess tournament environment.
• Boost Confidence: Every participant will receive a small trophy to celebrate their effort.

Besides the newly added section, we continue to offer all other rated sections: Primary K-4, Elementary K-7, and Championship K-12.

Event Highlights:

Date and Time: Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10:30 am 📅

Location: UU Princeton, 50 Cherry Hill Road, Princeton, NJ 08540 📍

Format: 4 rounds of the Swiss system, time control of G/25 +5 ⏲️

Eligibility: Exclusive to students in grades K-12. A valid USCF membership is required for participation, except for the Starter section. The Starter Section won’t require US Chess membership, and ratings won’t be computed. 📚

Rating: All games will be rated by USCF, except for the Starter section. 🏅

Awards: Trophies for the top 3 players in all sections and the best team; medals for players scoring 3 points. 

We pre-ordered all our trophies in advance; therefore, if you register your child in the Starter Section after July 14, they can still participate in the tournament but may not receive their trophy on the date of the tournament. 🏆🥇🥈🥉

Registration Fees:

$50 if registered by July 18

$60 thereafter and on-site registration is allowed, but participants may not be eligible to play in the first round 💰

Chess Sets: Provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own chess clocks ♟️
