September Monthly Classical at YMCA Manchester

One dual rated game each Tuesday evening in the month of September, for 4 weeks. Results submitted to US Chess Federation for rating (USCF membership required). Bonus 5th week (September 30th) will feature game analysis, casual games, or chess variants.

Dates: September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Time: Tuesdays at 6:00 PM

Location: Studio A, second floor, Granite YMCA, Manchester, NH

Time Control: G/45;+5 (45 minutes per side with 5 second increment)

Schedule:
6:00pm - Check in; Setup; Pre-game discussion on tactics and puzzle themes
6:30pm - Check-in closes; pairings formulated
6:45pm - Games begin; Post-game discussions to follow
9:00pm - Facility closes

Arrive no later than 6:30pm to ensure a pairing.

IF YOU EXPECT TO ARRIVE AFTER 6:30 PM, PLEASE CONTACT ORGANIZER LISTED BELOW TO SECURE PAIRINGS FOR THAT DAY.

1/2 point bye upon advance request. Limit 1 per tournament. Additional 0 point byes allowed. No shows receive 0 point forfeit loss.

Entry fee for entire month session:
$10 for non-members of YMCA. Free to members of the Granite YMCA.

Prizes:
Entry fee reimbursed for the winner of the classical tournament. Token prizes for top scores under 1000 and 1500.

Parking:

• Metered street parking available but limited
• Parking garage one block away at 2-98 Plaza Dr., Manchester (parking validated at Y front desk)

Accessibility:

• Elevator from street level available (ring buzzer for assistance).  Chess event is on the second floor, Studio A.
