Scholastic In-person OTB Tournament at City Centre Houston

Come join us for an in-person OTB (over-the-board) USCF Rated beginner kids chess tournament. There will be 5 rounds and the whole tournament will take no more than 5-6 hours from 10am - 4pm, with likely even an earlier finish than 4pm. This event is meant for kids aged 15 and younger, but most likely kids between age 7-12 will be present. Unrated or provisional or kids rated below USCF 1200 are welcome. It is for novice beginners just learning the game and ready to try their hand at using a clock. All kids will be taught how to use a DGT North American clock prior to the start of the first round.

This event will be submitted to USCF within 1-2 days after the tournament is over and will affect your child's official OTB regular rating. 

You must have a current USCF membership prior to participation. Please acquire this or renew your expired one online before you register to play.
