Overall Prize Fund: Cash prizes dependent on number of entries.
Format: 4 Round Swiss
Time Controls: Game 30/+30. Notation is required throughout the entire game due to +30 increment.
Entry Fee in advance: adults $20, players under age 19, $10 (In advance means if you pre-register by email on or before Thursday, May 26, 2022. Advance payment is not necessary.)
On-site registration on day of tournament: On-site entry fee is $30 (all ages). Advance registration is recommended because the playing room can accommodate about 20 players maximum. If in doubt, call or email to determine if there is still room for more registrants.

Payment: Bring tournament entry fee (correct change, cash only) to tournament. You must check in and pay when you arrive at tournament or you will not be paired in the first round. If you arrive late or fail to check in and pay, you will risk a bye (0 or .5 pt.) at TD’s discretion. Phone number to reach TD (Brenda) by cell phone during tournament: 325-716-0096. Equipment: Sets provided. Bring a chess clock capable of increment, and know how to set it. A limited number of clocks will be available for loan. USCF-approved electronic notation devices will be allowed. NO cell phones or other electronics in the playing area. Turn off or silence your phone, and put it in your pocket or backpack. Go outside the playing room if you need to make a call. This applies to players, spectators, parents, etc. A ringing cell phone is disruptive to the tournament. TURN OFF all telephone sounds and notifications.
Food: Coffee shop will be open to the public the day of the tournament, so players will be able to purchase food and drink during the event. The shop sells a variety of delicious sandwiches and muffins as well as coffees, teas, smoothies, and milkshakes. Bring money or credit card for food and drink purchases. No outside food and drink allowed, please. The shop is very roomy and has couches and chairs for resting and visiting between games. Tournament games will be played in a separate meeting room in the back of the shop.
